The Senate Armed Services Committee advanced several key nominations in a roll call vote on April 8, 2025. The committee endorsed the following individuals for prominent defense roles: Dr. Troy E. Meink as Secretary of the Air Force, Mr. Michael P. Duffey as Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment, Mr. Emil G. Michael as Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering, Mr. Keith M. Bass as Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs, and Lieutenant General John D. Caine, USAF (Retired) as a general and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
