Hansell's nomination comes with responsibilities such as providing intelligence, overseeing security clearances, and protecting against espionage. Wicker expressed confidence in Hansell's experience, saying, "That experience and his work in the private sector gives me confidence he will do an excellent job."
Earl Matthews has been nominated as General Counsel of the Department of Defense. With both military and civilian legal experience, Matthews is expected to contribute to Department of Defense reforms. Wicker expressed confidence in Matthews' suitability for the role.
Dale Marks is nominated as Assistant Secretary of Defense for Energy, Installations, and Environment.
