52 percent of applicants to Belhaven University were admitted for fall 2018

At Belhaven University, 52 percent of undergraduate students are nontraditional students - age 25 or older - and 65 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Jackson enrolled 4,205 students in fall 2018, including 2,307 in undergraduate and 1,898 in graduate programs, data shows. 15.3 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

44 percent of undergraduates are residents of Mississippi, and 53 percent are residents of other states. 2 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as Black or African American (40 percent) and white (40 percent).

The school admitted 52 percent of the 1,961 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 22 percent enrolled.
