U.S. Senators Roger Wicker and Cindy Hyde-Smith have expressed their support for Mississippi Supreme Court Justices Robert Chamberlin and James Maxwell, following the consideration of their nominations to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi by the Senate Judiciary Committee.

In a joint statement, Wicker and Hyde-Smith said, “We wholeheartedly support Justices Maxwell and Chamberlin’s nominations to the U.S. District Court.  President Trump chose these men for their qualifications and experience, which will serve them well on the federal bench.  Jimmy and Bobby have dedicated their lives to upholding the Constitution, defending the rule of law, and serving their Mississippi communities with distinction.  They are ready to assume these federal roles, and we look forward to their speedy confirmation both in committee and by the Senate.”

Both senators introduced Maxwell and Chamberlin at their nomination hearing. President Trump nominated them for U.S. District Court positions on August 12.
