Tigers fall to McNeese despite winning doubles point

Jackson State University’s women’s tennis team secured the doubles point but ultimately lost to McNeese State in a home match on Saturday. Victoria Linkovski and Helen Hernandez won their doubles match 6-1 against Stella Rundova and Elena Morales at the top spot. Tiara Alvarez and Daniela Tovar clinched the doubles point for Jackson State with a 6-4 win at number three.

In singles play, Paula Corbalan had the strongest performance for Jackson State, scoring four and three points in her sets but was unable to secure a victory.

The Tigers will next face Xavier University of Louisiana (XULA) at home on Saturday, February 28, at 2 p.m.
