U.S. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.) released a statement on Veterans Day, acknowledging the sacrifices of American veterans and urging residents of Mississippi to engage more with them.

“On this Veterans Day, we pause to honor and reflect on the immense sacrifices made by the brave men and women who have served our nation. Their courage, strength, and commitment to protecting our freedom are the foundation of the liberties we hold dear as Americans," said Hyde-Smith.

The senator emphasized the contributions of Mississippi's veterans and their families to national defense, underscoring the importance of ensuring they receive necessary care and support. She stated, "As a grateful nation for their sacrifices, we must continue to remember, honor, and engage with our veterans in every way possible – not just today, but every day.”

Hyde-Smith also promoted participation in National Warrior Call Day on November 17, 2024. This initiative aims to engage with veterans and servicemembers to address mental health risks faced by those who have defended the country. She is an original cosponsor of the National Warrior Call Day Resolution (S.Res.838), which passed in the Senate in September.

“Reaching out, listening, and letting our heroes know they are valued and not forgotten can make a profound difference,” she added.

Additionally, Hyde-Smith reaffirmed her dedication to assisting Mississippi veterans in accessing resources from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. She encouraged those facing difficulties with VA services to contact her office for help.
