Census Bureau: 75.8% of people in Hinds County were old enough to vote in 2021

Of the 230,772 citizens living in Hinds County in 2021, 75.8% were old enough to vote, equating to 174,880 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 79,742 were male, constituting 45.6%, and 95,138 were female, making up 54.4%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Hinds County during 2021 was lower than the state average, which stands at 76.2%.
