What background was most represented in Reimagine Prep schools in 2021-22 school year?

Black students made up 97.9% of the 568 students enrolled in Reimagine Prep schools during the 2021-22 school year, making them the most represented ethnicity, according to the Mississippi Department of Education.

Reimagine Preparatory School District had the highest enrollment in the district with 568 students.

A snapshot of Reimagine Prep schools showed 97.9% of students were Black and 2.1% were multiracial.

Reimagine Prep roughly covers one school and has a main office in Jackson.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly a decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
