Black had the largest percent of student body in Clinton Public School District schools in 2021-22 school year

Black students made up 54.7% of the 5,196 students enrolled in Clinton Public School District schools during the 2021-22 school year, making them the most represented ethnicity, according to the Mississippi Department of Education.

This is a 2.2% decrease from the previous school year.

Clinton High School had the highest enrollment in the district with 1,164 students.

A snapshot of Clinton Public School District schools showed 54.7% of students were Black, 34.6% were white, 5.4% were Asian, 2.4% were Hispanic, and 1.4% multiracial.

Clinton Public School District roughly covers seven schools within Hinds County and has a main office in Clinton.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly a decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
