Men’s Basketball Grabs a Big Conference Win Over Holmes
The Hinds Community College Men's Basketball team picked up a big conference win over the Holmes Community College Bulldogs inside J.D. Boyd Gymnasium last Thursday.
After a back and forth start of the game, Hinds held the 25-22 advantage going into the halftime break. The Bulldogs of Hinds Community College fought until the end of the game and picked up the 53-48 victory over Holmes CC.
Taylon Smith led the Bulldogs scoring 22 points in just 30 minutes of playing time. Additionally, he shot 8-18 (44.4 %) from the field and 6-14 (42.8%) from beyond the arc. Isaac Ratliff posted his third straight double-double, scoring 12 points and a team-high 12 rebounds. Patrick McCraney tallied 11 points and shot 5-8 (62.5%) from the field in the contest.
"Great team win against Holmes", said Head Men's Basketball Coach Jonathan Nevol. "We came out and fought for 40 minutes. I can't be prouder of them. If we keep building on these two wins, we can finish off the season and position us for postseason play."
