38 percent of applicants to Mississippi College were admitted for fall 2018

At Mississippi College, 87 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 62 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Clinton enrolled 5,103 students in fall 2018, including 3,232 in undergraduate and 1,871 in graduate programs, data shows. 10.2 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

55 percent of undergraduates are residents of Mississippi, and 42 percent are residents of other states. 3 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (71 percent) and Black or African American (19 percent).

The school admitted 38 percent of the 2,216 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 61 percent enrolled.
