U.S. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith has recently addressed various pressing issues through her social media platform. Her statements cover topics ranging from community safety to disaster assistance and insurance reform.
On June 9, 2025, Senator Hyde-Smith expressed concern over aggressive rhetoric, stating that “This violent rhetoric is dangerous, unacceptable, undermines peaceful discourse, and flies in the face of law and order.” She urged people to reject chaos and stand firm in defending safety within communities.
The following day, on June 10, 2025, she reached out to those affected by natural disasters in Mississippi. She tweeted about the availability of FEMA assistance for individuals impacted by the March tornadoes. Hyde-Smith advised against being misled by misinformation that might deter them from seeking aid: “If you were affected by the March tornadoes in Mississippi, help is available!”
Later on June 10, she addressed the issue of rising flood insurance premiums under Risk Rating 2.0 implemented during President Biden’s administration. She highlighted concerns about transparency within the system and its impact on planning and financial decisions: “Since Risk Rating 2.0 took effect under Biden, flood insurance premiums have spiked nationwide.” Senator Hyde-Smith joined other lawmakers in calling for an end to this policy due to its adverse effects on Mississippi families and businesses.
Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith represents Mississippi as a U.S. Senator since April 2018.
