Senate panel advances Feinberg and Phelan nominations

The Senate Armed Services Committee has advanced the nominations of Stephen Feinberg and John C. Phelan for key defense positions. Feinberg has been nominated for Deputy Secretary of Defense, while Phelan is set to become the next Secretary of the Navy.

The committee’s decision was made through a roll call vote, and both nominations have now been sent to the Senate floor for further consideration.

“Today, the Senate Armed Services Committee voted by roll call to favorably report out the nominations of Mr. Stephen Feinberg to be the next Deputy Secretary of Defense and Mr. John C. Phelan to be the next Secretary of the Navy.”

“The nominations were immediately reported to the floor following the Committee’s action.”
