Saint Stanislaus Catholic secured the 2026 MHSAA Boys Class 3A Basketball Championship by defeating Quitman High School 49-36 on March 7, 2026. The game took place during the MHSAA Basketball Tournament.

Saint Stanislaus established an early lead, ending the first quarter ahead 18-12 and extending their advantage to 32-22 by halftime. A key stretch came late in the second quarter and continued into the third, as Saint Stanislaus turned a five-point lead into a ten-point margin with Rafael Cohen Ramirez scoring at the start of the third quarter. Although Quitman narrowed the gap to six points midway through the third, Saint Stanislaus responded with a run led by Max Baria’s two dunks and another basket from Cohen Ramirez, increasing their lead to 44-32 entering the fourth quarter.

Cohen Ramirez led all scorers with 22 points and contributed five rebounds while making five out of ten free throws. Max Baria added 11 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks. Alan Gilliam scored nine points, and Jason Forte had seven points and seven rebounds for Saint Stanislaus, which shot efficiently at 17-of-31 from the field.

For Quitman High School, Ethan Nicholson scored 11 points. Jyshawn Bumpers added eight points along with eight rebounds, while Cadarius Buxton contributed seven points. Quitman shot 14-of-45 from the field and was unable to close the gap in the final quarter.

The box score reflected consistent play from Saint Stanislaus throughout all four quarters: they outscored Quitman in each period except for a tie in steals (five apiece). Both teams recorded similar assist numbers (two each), but Saint Stanislaus had fewer turnovers (11) compared to Quitman’s nine.

The victory gives Saint Stanislaus Catholic its latest boys basketball championship title under Mississippi’s high school athletics association.
