A pair of Jackson State University (JSU) Tigers have been recognized on the Preseason FCS Stats Perform All-America Team. The announcement came on Tuesday, highlighting their achievements during the 2024 HBCU National Championship season.
Travis Terrell Jr. has been named as a First Team kick returner. His accolades include being a Preseason First Team All-SWAC honoree and previously receiving recognition from various publications and the SWAC as a First Team All-Conference player. Last season, he earned titles such as Third Team FCS Football Central All-American and was an honorable mention by the Associated Press. Terrell was also awarded Freshman of the Year by both SWAC and Phil Steele and was on the Jerry Rice Award Watch List. He led the nation in kick returns for touchdowns with two and ranked high in several categories: third in punt returns, fourth in combined kick returns, fifth in kickoff returns, and 36th in all-purpose yards.
Jeremiah Williams joins him on the team after being named to the Third Team following his All-American season and Defensive Most Valuable Player award at the Cricket Celebration Bowl. Williams recorded 58 total tackles last season, including 22 solo stops, along with 7.5 tackles for loss and two sacks. He notably achieved nine tackles against Florida A&M.
