Neshoba Central girls basketball team advances to state finals after semifinal win

Neshoba Central High School’s girls basketball team secured a decisive victory over Forest Hill High School, winning 64-27 in the semifinals of the 2026 MHSAA Basketball Tournament held on March 2.

Neshoba Central established an early lead, ending the first quarter ahead 18-3 and extending it to 34-12 by halftime. The third quarter saw Neshoba Central outscore Forest Hill 22-10, entering the final period with a commanding 56-22 advantage.

Kyli Truss led Neshoba Central with 21 points. Eden Ben contributed eight points and Taelyn Mingo added seven. For Forest Hill, Aaliyah Johnson was the top scorer with 14 points, while Destiny King finished with seven.

The win advances Neshoba Central to the finals of the tournament. The game took place as part of the ongoing events for the Mississippi High School Activities Association’s annual championship series.
