The Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame & Museum will celebrate its 30th anniversary on April 29, marking three decades since it first opened and unveiling the completion of a $4 million renovation.
The event, scheduled from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., aims to bring together Hall of Fame inductees, supporters, and members of the community for an evening that honors Mississippi’s sports legacy and introduces visitors to the museum’s newly enhanced exhibits and spaces.
Since opening on July 4, 1996, the museum has served as a center for preserving and sharing stories about Mississippi’s athletes, coaches, and contributors. The recent renovations include updated spaces and interactive experiences designed to inspire future generations. “This is a moment to celebrate where we’ve been and where we’re going,” said Executive Director Andrea Patterson. “For 30 years, this museum has told the stories of Mississippi legends who have made an impact far beyond our state. With these renovations, we are ensuring those stories continue to inspire the next generation.”
Attendees at the celebration will have opportunities to meet several Hall of Fame inductees while exploring new features in the renovated facility. The museum operates as a nonprofit organization and relies on support from individuals in order to continue its mission.
Tickets for individual admission are priced at $100 each or $150 for two general admissions under a host ticket package. Sponsorship options are available at Bronze ($1,000), Silver ($2,500), or Gold ($5,000) levels; each includes early-access tickets to a reception with Hall of Famers along with various benefits such as premier event tickets and year-round memberships.
