Mississippi high school basketball championships underway at state coliseum

The 2026 Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Basketball Championships are taking place at the Mississippi Coliseum. The event began with semifinal matchups starting on Monday, March 2, and will continue through Saturday, March 7, featuring both girls’ and boys’ teams across multiple classifications.

Monday’s semifinals included games in Class 6A, where Olive Branch narrowly defeated West Jones by one point and Neshoba Central secured a strong win over Forest Hill. In the boys’ bracket, Terry overcame Canton and Pascagoula edged past Callaway. Additional matches in Class 1A saw Okolona and Ingomar winning their respective games for girls, while Leflore County and Calhoun City advanced on the boys’ side.

On Tuesday, Class 4A semifinals were held with Tishomingo County and Louisville moving forward in the girls’ competition. Morton and Leake Central progressed in the boys’ division. Starkville’s girls won against Biloxi to reach the next round in Class 7A, while Germantown and Starkville also moved ahead in the boys’ bracket.

Wednesday featured action from Classes 2A and 3A. East Union and New Site claimed victories among girls’ teams in Class 2A. Pelahatchie upset Baldwyn on the boys’ side. Booneville’s girls outscored Pisgah in a high-scoring contest for Class 3A, with Belmont also advancing.

Thursday’s schedule included championship matches for Class 6A. Olive Branch emerged as champions over Neshoba Central by a single point in the girls’ final. In the boys’ final, Pascagoula bested Terry to claim the title.

Championship rounds for other classes are scheduled throughout Friday and Saturday, culminating with games from Class 1A through Class 5A for both girls’ and boys’ teams.

Fans can watch television coverage of the championships on several local stations including ME TV (WAPT Channel 16.2) in Jackson, WLOX – Bounce (13.2) on the Gulf Coast, WCBI-MY MS (Channel 4.2) in Northeast Mississippi, WTOK – myTok (11.2) in Meridian, WDAM – BOUNCE (7.3) in Hattiesburg, WHCQ (Channel 8.1) in Cleveland, WPRZ (Channel 12) in Clarksdale, and WEBU (Channel 22.1) in Oxford.

Additionally, live video streaming is available online via NFHS Network at www.misshsaa.tv.

Radio coverage is provided by MHSAA neutral broadcasts on ESPN Radio 105.9 FM as well as individual school broadcasts that vary depending on each game.
