Mississippi high school basketball championships set for late February and early March

The Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) has released the schedule for the 2026 Basketball Championships. The tournament will begin with quarterfinal games on Wednesday, February 25, and continue through the finals on Saturday, March 7.

Quarterfinal matchups are set to take place at several venues across the state, including Mississippi Valley State University, Raymond High School, Itawamba Community College, Pearl River Community College, Northeast Mississippi Community College, and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. Teams from various classes—ranging from 1A to 7A—will compete in both girls’ and boys’ divisions.

Semifinal games will be held at the Mississippi Coliseum starting Monday, March 2. The schedule features games throughout each day by class and gender, leading up to the championship rounds.

Finals for all classes will also be played at the Mississippi Coliseum. The first championship games are scheduled for Thursday evening, March 5, with Class 6A Girls at 6:00 PM followed by Class 6A Boys at 8:00 PM. Additional finals for Classes 1A through 7A will take place on Friday and Saturday.

The MHSAA basketball championships are an annual event that brings together high school teams from across Mississippi to compete for state titles in their respective classifications.
