Godfrey Kimutai has been named the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Runner of the Week, according to an announcement from the SWAC office on Tuesday. The recognition follows his performance in the 8k race at the Watson Ford Invitational.

Kimutai achieved a new personal best, finishing third with a time of 24:37.10. This marks his fourth top-three finish of the season.

He is scheduled to compete next at the SWAC Championships with his Jackson State University teammates in Tallahassee, Florida, on October 27.
