Jackson State women’s tennis team loses to Southeastern Louisiana at home

The Jackson State women’s tennis team lost to the Southeastern Louisiana Lions in a home match on April 9.

This match was important for both teams as they approach the end of their regular season. The outcome impacts the Tigers’ momentum heading into their final game.

In doubles play, Jackson State fell behind after Taisia Bolsova and Aitana Darder defeated Isabella Benavides and Paula Corbalan with a score of 6-3. Southeastern Louisiana secured the doubles point with another 6-3 win on court three. In singles matches, Mariia Iordanova, Daniela Tovar, and Victoria Linkovski from Jackson State challenged their opponents by pushing matches to three sets. However, Southeastern Louisiana maintained control and earned three more wins. One victory came from court one after an opponent requirement win by Corbalan, while courts five and six also went to the Lions.

Jackson State will conclude its season by hosting Alcorn State on Saturday, April 11 at 1 p.m.
