Jackson State track and field earns multiple podium finishes at UAB Green and Gold Invite

Jackson State University’s track and field team participated in the UAB Green and Gold Invite at the Birmingham Crossplex on Friday. The Tigers achieved four top-three finishes and set five personal bests during the event.

Ronald Huddleston finished second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.87 seconds. Fabian Campbell also secured a second-place finish, completing the 800-meter race in 1:54.30. In field events, Kaiden Berry took second place in shot put with a throw of 16.54 meters, while Robert Salhab placed second in the weight throw with a distance of 17.74 meters.

Several athletes recorded new personal bests at the meet. Madyson McGill and Korbin Lewis both improved their marks in pole vault, Lorine Jelagat and Collins Kibet set new records in the one-mile run, Kayla Williams and Rickey Green III achieved personal bests in the 60-meter hurdles, and Sedgwrick Pitts Jr. set a new mark in the 60-meter dash.

The Tigers are scheduled to compete next at the UAB Invite on Saturday, February 7, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
