Jackson State earns seventh seed for SWAC Tournament

Jackson State University’s men’s basketball team will enter the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Tournament as the No. 7 seed after finishing the regular season with an overall record of 11-20 and a conference record of 10-8.

The Tigers are scheduled to play on Tuesday night in Atlanta at Gateway Arena, where they will face the winner of Monday’s matchup between No. 9 Grambling State and No. 12 Mississippi Valley State.

Other tournament games include No. 10 Alabama State versus No. 11 Alcorn State on Monday, with the winner advancing to play No. 8 Prairie View A&M in the top half of the bracket. The top-seeded Bethune-Cookman and fourth-seeded Texas Southern will also compete in this section, with Texas Southern set to face fifth-seeded Alabama A&M.

In the bottom half of the bracket, second-seeded Florida A&M awaits the winner from Tuesday’s late game, while third-seeded Southern is matched against sixth-seeded Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
