Jackson State University’s baseball team is set to play its first home games of the 2026 season on Tuesday, hosting a doubleheader against Tougaloo. The games will start at 3 p.m. and will be broadcast on SWACTV.
After starting the season with seven road games, Jackson State holds a 3-4 record. Ledy Alvarez leads the team offensively, hitting .364 with eight hits in 22 at-bats, six runs scored, two doubles, and two RBIs. Edwin Lemus Hudson Jr., appearing in five games so far, has gone 3-for-8 with a double and two walks. Tyree Reed has collected seven hits, including a double and triple, while scoring five runs and driving in four more.
Diego Melendez has also recorded seven hits over seven games and scored five runs for the Tigers.
On the pitching staff, Derek Arrocha has posted a 2-0 record through 13 innings pitched, allowing six runs on eleven hits and striking out fifteen batters. Jaedeyn Edwards has appeared in four games as a reliever, earning two saves across 7.2 innings while allowing just three hits and striking out eight. Christian Delgado has thrown eight innings out of the bullpen with six strikeouts.
